You'll find some of the websites, hardware and software that we've used. Surf around and see what fun stuff you can find! Even if you don't plan on becoming a TTL, you might find something useful...
WHAT?
A Technology Teacher Leader (TTL) is a person who is willing to learn more about how to use technology as a tool in the classroom. A TTL does not necessarily have to have any particuar knowledge about new ways of teaching, but rather simply be willing to learn and explore. You'll get to learn about new software, hardware and websites that can enrich your content.
WHEN?
TTLs meet for two full days during the summer, as well as three times during the year. You'll also be expected to work on your own, and assist other staff members whenever it's mutually conveninent.
WHO?
Anyone! Elementary, Middle and High school teachers are welcome. You've got to have a genuine interest in improving your own skills in using technology, and helping others do so as well.
WHERE?
Meetings generally take place at the elementary school, but you meet with others whenever you mutually can.
WHY?
This is the most important part. Education cannot stand still. We need to keep finding new and innovative ways to reach students, and technology is one of those ways. It is, of course, not the only way, and to assume that would be foolish. However, if you think that you can help yourself and help other teachers use technology to make learning better, then being a TTL is the way to go!
